| January 07/09 | Asher Roth Stops Terrorists | 
| Asher Roth, one of upcoming rappers featured by XXL, was involved in stopping a terrorist attack according to his publicist. Roth was apparently helped detain a man who made a bomb threat on an Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. "The unidentified man was aboard Delta Airlines Flight 110, which was
approaching Los Angeles, when he got up and stated he had a bomb," FBI
spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.
"There was an altercation with multiple passengers, who ultimately
subdued the man with plastic ties. At one point he tried to exit
through one of the aircraft doors after the flight landed at LAX." Roth was was on his way to make an appearance on Carson Daily. Asher gave a statement to the FBI and has been asked to not speak about the incident for the time being. Check out a picture taken by Asher's bass player of the suspect being taken off the plane.

| January 07/09 | Album Sales Chart - Week Ending 1/4 | 
| Kanye West gained two spots landing at number 3 with another 72,489 copies sold this week as the sole rapper in the top 10. Ludacris pushes another 32, 710 copies taking the 13th spot while T.I. also gains one spot to number 14 with another 32,167 copies sold. Plies' "Da Realest" LP moved up 16 spots selling 25,323 this past week while Lil Wayne continues to sell his "Tha Carter III" album landing at number 21 with another 25,233 copies sold.
On the R&B tip, Beyonce continues to dominate the charts as her "I Am...Sasha Fierce" album pushed another 77,578 copies placing it at number 2 this week. With more than 47,000 copies sold, Jamie Foxx gains one spot landing at number 8 while Akon's "Freedom" album took the 12th spot. Rihanna sings her way to number 22 with close to another 25 thousand copies sold of her "Good Girl Gone Bad" album.

| January 07/09 | 50 Cent's Album & Game Get Release Dates | 
| Despite some projects being canceled [more here], 50 Cent is kicking off 2009 with a new video game and album. In a new trailer [watch here] for 50's 2nd video game "Blood In The Sand," a release date of February 24th was announced. 50's upcoming album, "Before I Self Destruct," also recieved a tentative release date of February 3rd.
The new album will also come with a bonus dvd containing a film of the same title. 50 told Rollingstone the movie will show the complexities of "urban life" saying "When [movies] portray certain lifestyles they don't show cause and effect but I showed characters under pressure in scenarios where they felt like there were no other options, even though there were."
Special editions of 50's new album will also include another dvd with a documentary on Jam Master Jay titled "Two Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay." 50 says "Times are hard. Everyone is trying to make the most of what they have. I want to give my fans something extra for their hard earned dollars. They'll get a free bonus when the pick up the album."
A rumored track list for 50's album hit the net yesterday [view here]. The track list shows Dr Dre producing four songs and appearing on one with Eminem producing another and guest appearing on "Norman Bates Motel."
